Jacalyn started as a psychology major because she really liked people. She wanted to help them to be more confident in themselves and be the happiest they can be. Jacalyn thought of everyone as an individual and more importantly each of these people’s personality, as well as wants and needs were significant. She loves art. She was always drawing in her sketch book as a child. She would make cartoons and in elementary at one point she went around drawing all of her classmates. Her grandma taught Jacalyn how to sew when she was ten although she didn’t really get into it until college. Jacalyn took art in middle school and three years in High School. In college she took an intro to drawing class her second semester which made her realize that she really needed art to be a part of her life for her to be happy. She also has a strong athletic background. Jacalyn played soccer for 13 years of her life from "pack ball" to high school varsity. Then to get in shape for soccer she started running. Jacalyn then ran track in middle school. In high school she ran cross country and from the 800 up in track. She also played soccer and volleyball in addition to track and field and cross country. Ran for Northern Michigan University then transferred to Michigan State University where she ran varsity Track & Field and cross country and received a degree in Apparel and Textile Design. More recently she has become addicted to the challenges of climbing. All of these elements combined the love of people, the happiness art brought and her excitement to compete in athletics. It just kind of just grew into sportswear.
