It has been awhile since I have blogged for UR Sportswear, not because I haven’t wanted to but because SO MANY EXCITING THINGS HAVE BEEN HAPPENING! So lets start at the beginning…
I had an absolute BLAST traveling to Seattle in March to check in at the URSPORTSWEAR headquarters. While visiting Jackie I had the absolute privilege of meeting our local model/athletes MacKenzie, Kari, and Michelle as well as our esteemed photographer James accompanied by his ever ready assistant Ben. For two and a half days we ran all over Seattle shooting some amazing photos and making shenanigans as best we could fueled by copious amounts of coffee (3am wake ups for makeup while the boys slept in didn’t seem quite fair…). The adventure continued after the shoot when Jackie and I ran/ walked/ slid/ bushwhacked up a rather snow covered Mt. Si the morning of my departure. It was so much fun to interact with all of the URSPORTSWEAR family, and was the perfect kickoff to the spring season 🙂
Fast forwarding to May, which has brought the official launch of our 2013 line AND a partnership with a local Michigan business that allows for our product to be sold in Traverse City, Michigan. If you are in the area, be sure to check out TwoBays, at twobaystc.com. May 11th is also my first official road race of the 2013 season. I will be competing in Grand Rapids at the 5/3 Riverbank Run 25k. This is the USATF national championship for the 25k distance, so lots of talent come into town making this a special experience for anyone who competes. I will be at the race expo Friday morning selling product so if you are racing stop by to say “hi”, check out the gear, or just talk about cool running things 🙂 Really excited about race weekend, and to be racing in the new gear!
After this weekend, I will be taking URSPORTSWEAR global when I head off to Malawi for a research project for my masters program. I will be abroad for about two months and am hopeful to find a running community there to hang out with. Will be posting pictures as often as possible! So until next time, happy runnings!
