The Tour of Utah is touted as the toughest Men’s stage race in the country. This year the women finally had their chance to shine (and sweat) with the inaugural ToU Women’s edition. Although not a full stage race, the women had the opportunity to compete in 1 criterium held in conjunction with Stage 1 and a second ToU official crit on day 3. The TOUWE drew some of the fastest women in the country, with numerous national championships. Mindy was one of the female cyclists allowed to compete in this event, she managed to place 18th and 23rd, out of a field of over 60! She reports the event as being “insanely fast, incredibly challenging, and super crazy fun!” As an athlete Mindy currently rides for Canyon Bicycles-Shimano out of Draper, Utah. She’s currently ranked first in the Utah Cycling Association Premier points series and ranked as one of the top racers in the state. Mindy is truly an inspirational and strong women.
